Why choose a career with Care Afloat?
Here at Care Afloat, enabling Young People to achieve Positive Outcomes is at the heart of all that we do. We are dedicated to helping our children and young people develop and thrive. Our specialist Residential and Education Services ensure that everyone in our care is supported to take steps towards a positive future. This means that our staff are able to provide the commitment, guidance and empathy young people need to achieve their personal best and they can find the courage and determination to help young people to achieve this. We care for some of the most vulnerable, challenging and complex but equally amazing young people you could ever wish to meet. Every day is different, and although the work can often be testing, it is always rewarding.
We employ people with a range of Social Care experience and Level 3 Qualified Residential Care staff. However, we also welcome applications from individuals with no work experience in Social Care, but who have a wealth of life experience and a desire to make a difference. We place a high value on growth and development, and you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with qualified and experienced professionals, gain access to formal training and qualifications, and the chance to develop a successful, deeply rewarding career with real scope for progression.
Whatever your experience, we are looking for resilient, compassionate, engaging people willing to go above, beyond, and a little bit further. This is no ordinary job description. The work will be tough and there will be challenges. But, in return, the rewards you reap will be unmatched.
The job will be varied and interesting and you will find yourself involved in every aspect of our children and young people’s lives – including practical, hands-on activities, offering vital emotional, guidance and support – and bringing your personal care, attention and structure to every unique child’s life. Each day will bring its own set of challenges, obstacles and victories, as well as the personal rewards of working with each individual to help them achieve their personal best – whatever that may be.
CURRENT JOB VACANCIES
We were extremely proud to be asked to take part in the following National Recruitment Campaign for Residential Child Care. The camera’s followed a couple of our staff around for the day to record a typical day in the life of a residential childcare worker.
The campaign reflects that qualifications and previous experience are not necessarily the most important attributes for workers in this sector. As the strapline says “if you care….you can”.
